Pamlico County Battle of the Books Compete

One of the best academic traditions of Pamlico County Schools is our participation in the Battle of the Books program. America's Battle of the Books is a reading incentive program for students in 3rd thru 12th grades. Students read books and come together, usually in groups, to demonstrate their abilities and to test their knowledge of the books they have read.

Our teams begin at Fred A. Anderson Elementary School and continue through Pamlico County High School. Each school was able to compete in face-to-face competitions this year! The PCHS Battle of the Books team came in 2nd in the region!

We are so thankful to the coaches/mentors of these fantastic teams. Ms. Lipford, FAA, Ms. Prescott, PCMS, and Ms. Anne Wood with Aeryalle Coward at PCHS. These amazing educators spend a great deal of time planning, reading, and leading these forever readers. Thank you so much!
